Fall is the Preppiest Season: Scarf it up with Age of Reason

Three items from Age of Reason's collection, incorporated into outfits.

Age of Reason Scarves started following me on Twitter, so I checked out their website and was pleasantly surprised at the original and fun designs. The scarves, designed by Ali Mapletoft, are 100% silk PLUS they're all made in the UK.

Here are my three favorites from the selection (though it was tough to choose):

Mushroom Magic | I Will Never Surrender. | Get your Skates on!

And here they are incorporated into three prep-ish outfits.

For sister 1: I Will Never Surrender.

The other items are clothes she already has - mostly from Hollister. (Though sister 1 hates actually going to Hollister, so she will ask sister 3 to shop for her. Which means my mother stands in line with the other mothers and sister 3 joins her when they're about to go in.) The pieces are:

Ecru / gray striped 3/4-sleeved tee, Abercrombie & Fitch.

Dark skinny jeans, Hollister.

Brown leather boots, Boden

Dark pink tank, Abercrombie & Fitch.

Bracelet, Hollister.

Jacket, Abercrombie & Fitch.

For my mother, a huge scarf aficionada who's also a talented roller skater: Get your Skates on!

Again, the other items are pieces she actually has in her wardrobe or close analogues.

Pale pink blouse, Rene Lezard via Peek & Cloppenburg.

Navy skirt, Hugo Boss.

20-den nude tights in "Crystal," Falke.

Navy blazer, Hugo Boss.

Camel coat, L.K.Bennett.

Elkington briefcase, Mulberry.

Navy leather courts, Peter Kaiser.

As for myself: Mushroom Magic. I love the color scheme and the mushrooms just scream "fall" - my favorites are probably chanterelles, cooked in butter with flat-leaf parsley and served with pasta or potatoes.

Other items:

Fuchsia cashmere sweater, Crumpet via Net a Porter.

Black ponteroma skirt, Jigsaw

Anthracite patterned tights, Falke.

Camel car coat, Jaeger.

White viscose / jersey tee, Jigsaw.

Cobalt-blue tote, Banana Republic. The color is bright yet versatile and pops against the berry pink as well as the camel coat.

Chocolate leather riding boots, L.K.Bennett. Yes, I love these boots - as can be seen here.
